Ryan Borucki: Breaking News

Borucki earned a hold with a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers, allowing one hit while striking out one. Borucki entered in the sixth inning and surrendered a double to the second batter he faced but escaped the frame on just 10 pitches, eight of which were strikes. The left-hander has turned in three straight scoreless outings following a three-game stretch in which he allowed four runs over three innings. He now owns a 5.87 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across 7.2 innings in nine appearances this season.

San Francisco signed Borucki to a contract Saturday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Borucki spent time in White Sox camp this spring but was released Friday. He looked good in Grapefruit League action, however, pitching six scoreless innings with an 8:1 K:BB over six appearances, and the Giants were quick to snap him up. Borucki gives San Francisco another lefty in the bullpen and has plenty of experience with 187 regular-season MLB outings under his belt.

The White Sox released Borucki on Friday. Borucki, after posting a 4.63 ERA across 35 innings in 2025 while spending time with the Pirates and Blue Jays, signed an NRI deal with the White Sox this offseason. However, he was unable to claim a spot in the big-league bullpen and has been released as a result. Borucki threw six scoreless innings during spring training.
