Swats homer in win

Troy went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-3 win over Cincinnati. Troy got the Diamondbacks on the board in the third inning, when he tied the game at 1-1 with his second home run since being called up in May. After a strong two-week run upon his introduction to the majors, the prospect has slumped over the last week, going 2-for-21 with a 24.0 K% over the last seven contests. When the club decides to bring Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) off the injured list, Troy's roster spot could be in jeopardy.

Clubs first homer

Troy went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers. Troy got the Diamondbacks on the board in the sixth inning, cranking a solo shot into the left-field stands for his first big-league homer and RBI. Called up May 23 in the wake of Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) landing on the injured list, Troy has seen regular opportunities in left field and is making the most of them, slashing .318/.400/.545 with three extra-base hits and seven runs across 25 plate appearances. The 24-year-old's positional versatility should help him maintain a roster spot and compete for playing time even when Gurriel returns to health.

Resting Sunday

Troy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners. Troy will hit the bench for the series finale while the Diamondbacks go with Tim Tawa in left field. The 24-year-old rookie had started in each of Arizona's last six games, going 5-for-19 with two doubles and a 3:4 BB:K while scoring five runs.
