Trevor Gott: Breaking News

Nabs MiLB deal from Nats

Gott signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Saturday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Gott hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023, but he made 22 appearances with the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate during 2025 and finished the season with an 8.20 ERA and 1.92 WHIP across 18.2 innings. The Nationals' lack of bullpen depth helps the 33-year-old's chances of making it back to MLB in 2026, though he will likely need to show significant improvement at Triple-A Rochester first.

Headed to open market

Gott was released by the Mariners on Monday, per MiLB's transactions log. Gott agreed to a minor-league deal with Seattle back in February and ultimately landed at Triple-A Tacoma. He never managed to find his footing, posting a 9.95 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 6.1 innings (seven appearances).

Minor-league deal with Seattle

Gott signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Sunday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Gott missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery while with the Athletics. He'll now return to Seattle where he spent half of the 2023 campaign, appearing in 30 games with the Mariners, posting a 4.03 ERA over 29.0 innings. The right-hander's contract includes an invitation to spring training down in Arizona, where Gott will look to prove his health.
