Xzavion Curry: Breaking News

Joins Mets organization

Curry signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday. Curry was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse and made his organizational debut Sunday, starting in an 8-5 loss to Rochester while striking out four batters and allowing two runs on five hits and no walks over five innings. The 27-year-old righty appeared in three games out of the Miami bullpen in 2025, but he's unlikely to be in the mix for a call-up to New York anytime soon unless the Mets' pitching staff gets decimated by injuries.

Lands MiLB deal with Colorado

The Rockies signed Curry to a minor-league contract Sunday and assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque. Curry briefly worked out of the Miami bullpen early in the season, but he was dropped from the 40-man roster April 14 before being released just under two months later. He then signed with Mexican League club Tigres de Quintana Roo on July 1 but was granted his release to pursue an opportunity with the Rockies. He'll likely serve as a swingman at Albuquerque and could earn a call-up to Colorado before season's end if the big club has a need for a spot starter or long man out of the bullpen.

Joining Triple-A Jacksonville

Curry was sent outright to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Curry was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Friday and will now report to Triple-A after going unclaimed on waivers. He'll provide Miami with bullpen depth, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him back in the big leagues at some point later in the year.
