Former Ultimate Fighter winner Roy Nelson and top heavyweight contender Junior Dos Santos will square off at UFC 117 in August.
That’s according to a report from MMA Junkie, who published the story this morning.
Heavy.com originally reported in March that Nelson and Dos Santos would be squaring off in July, but Dos Santos turned down the original bout offer and Nelson was instead slated to face Cheick Kongo. When Kongo suffered a back injury and was forced to pull out of the bout, Dos Santos was again offered the fight and accepted.
UFC 117 takes place at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, though Sonnen told Heavy.com on Saturday night that Silva has not signed his contract for the fight.
