Henderson signs with the UFC, returns in November
Dan Henderson is returning to the UFC, and he’ll face former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC 139.
The event takes place Nov. 19 in San Jose. A middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Cung Le serves as the co-main event bout of the evening.
HeavyMMA.com confirmed the story with sources close to the fight. MMAWeekly.com first reported the news.
Henderson has been widely rumored to head to the UFC since defeating Fedor Emelianenko earlier this summer to fulfill the terms of his Strikeforce contract. He had been linked to potential bouts with Rua, Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva.
Rua is coming off a win over Forrest Griffin at UFC 134. “Shogun” lost his light heavyweight title to Jon Jones in March.
