Bailey was waived by the Nets on Saturday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Bailey played for the Hornets in 2023-24 as a rookie after being selected No. 41 in the NBA Draft. He signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Brooklyn in September and spent training camp attempting to earn a role on the roster. However, he was unable to do so, and will now look for a new opportunity.

Amari Bailey: Breaking News
Joins Nets on Exhibit 10 deal
Bailey signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Nets on Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Bailey was the 41st pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and played for the Hornets last season. He's unlikely to make the roster for the start of the regular season, but he'll add depth in training camp and should contend for a G League role in a worst-case scenario.
Plays entire fourth quarter
Bailey (illness) logged five points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and two rebounds across 12 minutes Friday in the Hornets' 131-98 loss to the Celtics. Bailey had missed four straight games with an illness before being cleared to return to action for Wednesday's game against the Hawks, but he didn't enter the rotation while the Hornets eked out a 115-114 win. With Friday's contest proving to be much less competitive, Bailey got the chance to make his return to action, as he played the entire fourth quarter of the blowout. The rookie could stick in the rotation again in Sunday's game in Cleveland if the Hornets opt to rest or limit Vasilije Micic and Tre Mann.
