Daishen Nix: Breaking News

Waived by Houston

Nix was waived by the Rockets on Friday. Nix signed with the Rockets earlier Friday but was waived shortly after, positioning him to likely join their G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The guard made three brief appearances with the Timberwolves last season, averaging 0.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 4.3 minutes per game.

Signing with Houston

Nix and Houston agreed to a deal Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Houston's preseason has finished, so Nix won't have an opportunity in game action during training camp. The G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers will likely be his next destination.

Reaches free agency

Nix became a free agent Tuesday after his 10-day contract with the Kings expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Nix didn't make any appearances for Sacramento over the course of his 10-day deal. The Kings will have the option of re-signing Nix to a second 10-day contract, but with the team having recently brought Markelle Fultz aboard on a one-year deal, using the open roster spot on a wing, forward or center may be a greater priority.
