Dylan Cardwell: Breaking News

Cardwell accumulated six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, one block and one steal over 21 minutes during Sunday's 122-110 loss to Portland. Though it was fellow rookie Maxime Raynaud who was more productive for the Kings this year, Cardwell held his own in a backup role and will likely be pushing for a rotation spot in the frontcourt in 2026-27. Through 44 contests, Cardwell averaged 5.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 20.6 minutes per contest while shooting 58.7 percent from the floor.

Cardwell closed with 15 points (7-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals over 27 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 138-109 loss to the Clippers. The rookie center set a new career scoring high in the rout as the Kings went to their bench early and often, while recording multiple blocks for the third time in the last four contests. Cardwell has had a steady role in the frontcourt rotation since returning from an ankle injury in mid-March, and over the last 12 games, he's averaging 5.1 points, 7.1 boards, 1.9 assists and 1.2 blocks in 18.4 minutes while shooting 56.0 percent from the floor.

Cardwell finished Tuesday's 134-90 loss to the Hornets with six points (3-8 FG), 11 rebounds, one assist and one block across 24 minutes. Cardwell was part of an eight-man rotation for the injury-depleted Kings. His fantasy appeal remains limited to deeper leagues, as he's averaging 4.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.3 blocks in 17.8 minutes over his last six appearances.
