McDaniels and the Pelicans agreed to a deal Monday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. Terms of the deal were not yet disclosed, so it's unclear if this is a standard contract or a training camp invite. McDaniels has 252 career regular-season appearances under his belt with averages of 6.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 steals on 44.9 percent shooting from the field.
The Wizards released McDaniels on Monday. McDaniels still had one day remaining on his 10-day contract, but the Wizards opted to release him ahead of Monday's 106-90 loss to the Heat to free up a 15-man roster spot for Justin Champagnie, who was upgraded from a two-way contract. McDaniels appeared in four games during his brief stay with Washington and played seven total minutes.
McDaniels agreed to a 10-day deal with the Wizards on Saturday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. The 6-foot-9 forward will get his first taste of the NBA in 2024-25 after he saw time with the Hornets, 76ers and Raptors across the previous five seasons. After getting cut by the Spurs in training camp, McDaniels linked up with the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. In 26 games for the Go-Go, the 27-year-old forward has averaged 12.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 three-pointers and 1.1 steals in 29.7 minutes per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from three-point range.
