Julian Reese: Breaking News

Reese finished Sunday's 130-117 loss to the Cavaliers with 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and three steals across 18 minutes. Reese inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Wizards in February, and he certainly impressed during his brief time with Washington. He averaged 11.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.9 minutes per tilt over 13 games this season. Even so, Reese could have a harder time finding steady playing time on a healthier Washington team in 2026-27.

Reese will come off the bench for Sunday's game in Cleveland. While Reese will be running with the second unit Sunday, he should still see quality minutes as the only other big man available for Washington's regular-season finale. Reese has double-doubled in three of his past four outings.

Reese had 10 points (5-11 FG), six rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 140-117 loss to the Heat. Reese has been one of the players who has taken the most advantage of his chance to play regularly for the Wizards in recent weeks. The big man fell four boards short of reaching what would've been a fourth consecutive double-double, but still, he should be a player to target ahead of the regular-season finale Sunday against the Cavaliers since he should continue to see a decent workload in a depleted Washington frontcourt.
