Waived by Pacers

The Pacers waived Guy on Saturday. This was an expected move by the Pacers, and this now frees up the 28-year-old guard to play for the Noblesville Boom in the G League.

Ends playing career

Guy announced his retirement from playing basketball Wednesday and will return to Virginia to serve as a special assistant, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports. Guy was the most outstanding player for Virginia during the 2019 championship run, but he struggled to make it professionally after being selected by the Knicks in the second round. He made 53 appearances in the NBA -- 34 with Sacramento and 19 with Miami -- but never averaged more than 10 minutes per game in a single season.
