Lester Quinones: Breaking News

Waived by Orlando

The Magic waived Quinones on Saturday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Quinones, who was previously on an Exhibit 10 deal, is now poised to join the Osceola Magic in the G League.

Landing with Orlando

The Magic and Quinones agreed to a deal Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. After spending the 2024-25 campaign with the Pelicans organization, Quinones is headed to Orlando to help provide depth as a swingman. The 24-year-old averaged 21.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game over 41 contests with the Birmingham Squadron and Delaware Blue Coats in the G League last year, and it's possible most of Quinones' playing time in 2025-26 will come with the Osceola Magic while the parent club is healthy.

Being waived by New Orleans

The Pelicans intend to waive Quinones, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Quinones had initially landed a two-way contract with New Orleans in March and also participated in the Summer League, but he'll now search elsewhere for a home ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 24-year-old swingman averaged 21.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game over 41 outings with the Birmingham Squadron and Delaware Blue Coats in the G League last year, which could give some appeal on the open market prior to training camp this fall.
