Cut loose by Cleveland

The Cavaliers waived Travers (illness) on Sunday, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Cleveland will part ways with Travers in order to open up one of its three two-way slots for forward Emanuel Miller, whom the team acquired Saturday in a three-team deal with the Kings and Bulls. Travers had been in the midst of his second season on a two-way deal with the Cavaliers, but he averaged just 8.6 minutes per game over his 12 appearances at the NBA level in 2025-26 and had instead seen the bulk of his action in the G League. If he clears waivers, Travers could stick around with the Cavaliers' G League affiliate, though the 24-year-old Australian might prefer to explore his options overseas.

Logs six minutes in loss

Travers (hamstring) posted four points (2-2 FG), three rebounds and one steal in six minutes during Friday's 136-125 loss to the Bulls. After missing time due to a hamstring injury, the two-way player returned to the court with several Cleveland players sidelined, including Donovan Mitchell (illness). Travers has appeared in just 12 regular-season games for the parent club thus far and will likely continue spending plenty of time with the G League's Cleveland Charge.

Rare appearance Friday

Travers finished Friday's 130-117 victory over the Spurs with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 10 minutes. Travers logged double-digit minutes for just the fifth time this season, taking advantage of some early foul trouble. While it is always good to see depth pieces getting a crack, there is nothing to see here in terms of potential fantasy value.
