Max Shulga: Breaking News

Shulga is in the Celtics' starting lineup against the Magic on Sunday. The rookie second-rounder has spent most of the 2025-26 season in the G League with the Maine Celtics and has appeared in just 10 regular-season games for Boston. However, Shulga will enter the starting five for the first time in his NBA career, as the Celtics are resting several starters and key rotation pieces for Sunday's regular-season finale.

Shulga recorded no statistics while playing the final eight seconds of Wednesday's 147-129 win over the Heat. Shulga arrived in Miami in time for Wednesday's game, after he had suited up for the G League's Maine Celtics a night earlier in the affiliate's playoff loss to the Greensboro Swarm. With Maine having been eliminated from the postseason, Shulga will remain with Boston moving forward but is unlikely to see minutes outside of garbage-time scenarios or games in which the team is resting multiple rotation players.

The Celtics recalled Shulga from the G League's Maine Celtics on Wednesday. Shulga has rejoined Boston ahead of Wednesday's game against the Thunder, but he's unlikely to be featured in the rotation. The rookie second-round pick saw extended run Tuesday in Maine's 130-105 win over the Cleveland Charge, finishing with 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists, one rebound and one steal.
