Let go by Milwaukee

Micic was waived by the Bucks on Monday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. The 31-year-old was traded to the Bucks in exchange for Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks, though Milwaukee waived Micic and agreed to a contract buyout. He gave back $6.1 million, with the Bucks stretching the remaining $2 million on his contract over the next three seasons. The guard is now expected to explore other opportunities in both Europe and the NBA. He averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 regular-season appearances (16 starts) between the Hornets and Suns in 2024-25.

Traded to Milwaukee

The Hornets traded Micic to the Bucks on Tuesday in exchange for Pat Connaughton, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The Hornets also received two second-round picks in this deal. Micic was traded to Charlotte during the 2025 NBA Draft, and now he has been sent to Milwaukee to provide the team with additional depth at point guard. It remains to be seen if he will be in the team's plans, however. The 31-year-old guard averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 regular-season appearances in 2024-25 (36 with Charlotte, five with Phoenix).

The Hornets acquired Micic, the No. 29 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and a 2029 first-round pick from the Suns on Wednesday in exchange for center Mark Williams, Bobby Marks of ESPN.com reports. Micic returns to Charlotte after spending the first half of the 2024-25 campaign with the club before being sent to Phoenix ahead of the deadline. The 31-year-old guard averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 appearances (36 with Charlotte, five with Phoenix). He's likely being included in Wednesday's trade strictly for salary-matching purposes, as Phoenix picked up his $8.1 million team option for 2025-26 before dealing him to Charlotte, according to Marks. Micic will add depth to the Charlotte backcourt, but he'll likely have difficulty cracking the rotation when the Hornets are at full strength.
