K'Lavon Chaisson: Everything you need to know

Washington agreed to terms on a one-year, $11 million contract with Chaisson on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports. Chaisson is coming off a breakout campaign in New England and will spend his seventh season in the NFL as a focal point of the Commanders' revamped pass rush. Across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025, he totaled 71 tackles (18 solo), including a career-high 7.5 sacks. Chaisson projects to start opposite fellow free-agency signee Odafe Oweh in 2026.

Chaisson recorded 7.5 sacks among his 31 tackles (18 solo) while suiting up for 16 games during the 2025 regular season. Chaisson set a new career high in sacks for the third consecutive season, jumping up from 5.0 sacks with the Raiders in 2024 to 7.5 sacks in his first season with New England. He had no more than 2.0 sacks in any of his first four NFL campaigns. Chaisson will remain a key part of the Patriots' pass rush in the playoffs, beginning with the wild-card round against the Chargers, before becoming a free agent in the offseason.

Chaisson (ankle) was a full participant in New England's practice Friday. Chaisson has been dealing with an ankle injury over the past couple of weeks but should continue to play through it during Monday's matchup versus the Giants. The 2020 first-round pick has compiled 18 tackles (10 solo), including 6.5 sacks, across 11 games and will look to add to his totals against New York.
