Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Parson (ACL) is expected to open training camp on the PUP list, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports. LaFleur said no decision has been officially made yet, but it would be unsurprising for Parsons to miss the start of camp given Adam Schefter of ESPN's mid-May report that the team expects the star pass rusher begin the regular season itself on the PUP list. Until such time as Parsons is back in the starting lineup, Brenton Cox and rookie fourth-rounder Dani Dennis-Sutton will figure to handle increased roles in Green Bay's pass rush alongside Lukas Van Ness. Meanwhile, LaFleur offered optimism that Tucker Kraft (ACL), who underwent surgery roughly one month prior to Parsons, will be available to kick off training camp.

Micah Parsons: Breaking News
May start on PUP list
The Packers consider Parsons (ACL) a candidate to begin the 2026 regular season on the PUP list, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Parsons is reportedly expected to miss the first three to four games of the regular season as he works his way back from surgery undergone in late December to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Once activated, he would likely still need time to ramp back up to his usual full workload. With Rashan Gary having been dealt to Dallas in March, rookie fourth-rounder Dani Dennis-Sutton will help keep the pass-rushing corps steady until Parsons is 100 percent healthy. This latest update aligns with the recovery timelines that have consistently been attached to Parsons throughout the offseason.
Likely facing multi-game absence
Parsons (knee) is projected to miss the first three or four weeks of the regular season as he recovers from a torn ACL, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Parsons underwent surgery shortly before the calendar flipped to 2026 to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. The recovery process typically takes around nine months, so Parsons still has a chance to be available by the time the regular season kicks off in September, but a multi-game absence is the likeliest scenario at this point.
