Williams recorded three receptions on four targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 27-14 win over the Browns. The Steelers had limited pass volume, with Russell Wilson taking to the air only 26 times. Even with an expanded role in the absence of George Pickens (groin), that led to a modest stat line for Williams. Nevertheless, it was his best usage as a Steeler, and he finished tied for second on the team in targets. Even with some slight reason for optimism, it's difficult to trust that Williams will post a meaningful stat line heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Eagles.

Moderate increase in role
Williams recorded three receptions on four targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 27-14 win over the Browns. The Steelers had limited pass volume, with Russell Wilson taking to the air only 26 times. Even with an expanded role in the absence of George Pickens (groin), that led to a modest stat line for Williams. Nevertheless, it was his best usage as a Steeler, and he finished tied for second on the team in targets. Even with some slight reason for optimism, it's difficult to trust that Williams will post a meaningful stat line heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Eagles.
No targets in Week 13
Williams wasn't targeted during Sunday's 44-38 win over Cincinnati. Williams recorded a 32-yard reception during his Steelers debut against Washington in Week 10, but he hasn't been targeted over three games since then. It's especially discouraging that Williams was held without a target during Sunday's high-scoring victory in which Russell Wilson tallied a season-high 414 passing yards. Williams seems unlikely to be a consistent fantasy option late in the regular season given his lack of work in recent weeks.
Not targeted against Baltimore
Williams wasn't targeted during Sunday's 18-16 win over the Ravens. Although Williams saw a slight increase in playing time during his second game with his new team, he didn't draw any targets in the narrow win. The 30-year-old reached the end zone late in his Steelers debut last week, and he'll look to bounce back Thursday against Cleveland as he continues to compete for a role in Pittsburgh's offense.
Reaches end zone in team debut
Williams secured his lone target for a 32-yard touchdown during Sunday's 28-27 win over the Commanders. Williams was on the field for just nine offensive snaps during his first game in a Steelers uniform, but he made his presence felt by securing a go-ahead touchdown with 2:22 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was the first time he'd reached the end zone this season, after being shut out in nine games for the Jets, and his volume with the Steelers figures to grow as he gets more familiar with the playbook.
Set for Steelers debut
Williams is active for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Williams was acquired by the Steelers on Tuesday prior to the trade deadline, so there was some question of whether he'd be ready to suit up for his new team. Per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Williams may not see a full complement of snaps, so he may not make much of a statistical impact in his debut with Pittsburgh.
Likely to play Sunday
Williams, whom the Steelers acquired in a trade with the Jets on Tuesday, is expected to suit up in his new team's Week 10 matchup versus Washington, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Williams has had less than a full week to familiarize himself with Pittsburgh's offensive playbook, but it appears he's done enough to be able to suit up Sunday. The veteran wideout struggled in his nine games with New York prior to the trade, totaling just 12 catches on 21 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns. Williams will look to resurrect his season as the Steelers' No. 2 receiver alongside top wideout George Pickens.
Moving to Steel City
The Jets agreed to trade Williams to the Steelers in Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports. As for compensation, Pittsburgh is sending a 2025 fifth-round pick to New York for the wide receiver's services, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Despite playing in all nine games this season, Williams wasn't able to develop chemistry with QB Aaron Rodgers, surpassing 50 receiving yards only one time and scoring no touchdowns. Upon joining the Steelers, Williams will team up with George Pickens at the top of the WR depth chart.
Limited to one catch Thursday
Williams secured one of two targets for six yards in the Jets' 21-13 win over the Texans on Thursday night. Williams once again struggled for relevancy in the Jets' air attack, even on a night where Davante Adams missed significant time during the second half for a concussion check. Williams has been the subject of trade rumors as Tuesday's deadline approaches, and the fact he's had no more than one catch in any of his last four games seems to cement the notion his best fit may be somewhere outside the Jets organization.
Blanked in No. 3 WR role
Williams wasn't targeted in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots. Williams has clearly lost the trust of Aaron Rodgers, as Williams played 58 percent of offensive snaps in the absence of Allen Lazard (chest) but wasn't thrown to at all. Xavier Gipson got the only target by a Jets wide receiver other than Garrett Wilson or Davante Adams, and Gipson made the most of that opportunity by scoring a one-yard touchdown. Williams is unlikely to play a significant role in Week 9 against the Texans, if he isn't traded by then.
