Summers (foot) was placed on practice squad injured list Thursday, Brad Biggs of The Athletic reports. Chicago is expected to re-sign linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin to the practice squad in a corresponding move. Summers will be unavailable for the entirety of the Bears' postseason run due to the foot injury he sustained on the opening kickoff of the regular-season finale against the Lions.

Ty Summers: Breaking News
Carted off field with foot injury
Summers (foot) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Lions. Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Summers injured his foot during the opening kickoff. The injury was severe enough for Summers to be carted off the field, and while he's considered questionable to return, it's more likely that he will be sidelined the rest of the way. He has served solely on special teams this season, so his absence wouldn't impact the Bears' rotation on defense.
Cut by Detroit
The Lions waived Summers on Saturday. Summers joined the Lions' active roster in early November, but he'll now hit waivers and could garner interest from teams in need of a linebacker who can contribute on special teams. The 2019 seventh-rounder logged one assisted tackle across five regular-season games for Detroit.
