The Browns signed Marshall to a reserve/future contract Monday. Marshall signed with the Browns' practice squad in early December after being cut by the team earlier in the season. The 23-year-old did not appear in a game this season. The product out of Appalachian State will have the opportunity to participate in the Browns' offseason activities and potentially earn a spot on their active roster next season.
The Browns signed Marshall to the practice squad Tuesday. This will be Marshall's third time signing with the Browns this season, as he was signed (and eventually released) April 28 and Aug. 27. The rookie undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State was likely a depth signing in response to the injury fellow rookie Dylan Sampson (calf) suffered in last Sunday's loss to the 49ers. If Sampson is unable to suit up for Sunday's game against the Titans, Marshall has a chance to be elevated to the active roster.
Marshall was cut from the Browns' practice squad Monday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. The Appalachian State product signed with the Browns' practice squad in late August after failing to make the initial 53-man roster, but the team has now decided to move in another direction. Marshall has yet to appear in an NFL game after recording 784 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns on 160 touches during his final collegiate season in 2024.
