Davidson (shoulder) was a limited participant in Friday's practice but is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against New Orleans. Davidson injured his shoulder during the Giants' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Cowboys. He was a limited participant in practice all week, but it appears he is trending towards being sidelined for Sunday's contest. With Davidson unlikely to play and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (neck/shoulder) already ruled out, Cory Durden -- who was signed off the Rams' practice squad Monday -- is slated to start on the Giants' defensive line alongside Elijah Chatman and Jordon Riley.

D.J. Davidson Latest News
Unlikely to play Sunday vs. NOLA
Exits game with shoulder injury
Davidson (shoulder) is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Davidson injured his shoulder in the second quarter of Thursday's game. While Davidson is sidelined, Jordon Riley will serve as the Cowboys' rotational lineman behind Rakeem Nunez-Roches, Dexter Lawrence and Elijah Chatman.
Good to go Thursday
Davidson (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Thursday's game at Dallas. Davidson was limited at practice during the week due to a shoulder issue, but it won't hold him out of game action in Week 13. He should resume his regular rotational role on the defensive line Thursday.
Nursing shoulder injury
Davidson (shoulder) was estimated as a limited practice participant for Monday's walkthrough. Davidson left Sunday's game against the Buccaneers due to an ankle injury, but he was listed with a shoulder injury on Monday's practice estimate. With the Giants playing Thursday against the Cowboys, Davidson will have Tuesday and Wednesday to increase his practice participation.
Leaves game due to ankle injury
Davidson (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Davidson was helped off the field by trainers after suffering an ankle injury. Armon Watts would be the lone rotational defensive end behind Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Elijah Chatman if Davidson is unable to return Sunday.
Records first full sacks of career
Davidson tallied two tackles -- both of which were sacks -- in Sunday's 29-20 win over Seattle in Week 5. Davidson logged just a half-sack over his first 20 regular-season NFL games after entering the league in 2022, so his performance Sunday was a bit unexpected. Both of the defensive end's sacks came in a tight second half -- he brought down Geno Smith on a first-down play in the third quarter to help limit the Seahawks to a field goal, then took Smith down again with under a minute left in the fourth as Seattle attempted to mount a final rally. Davidson logged 33 percent of New York's defensive snaps Sunday, which is in line with the workload he has handled overall through the first five weeks of the campaign.
