Harmon recorded 27 total tackles (11 solo), including 3.0 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed and a fumble recovery over 12 games during the 2025 regular season. Harmon opened the season on the sidelines after suffering a sprained MCL in late August, but he was only forced to miss two contests. The 2025 first-round pick then hit the ground running, securing seven total takedowns, including 2.0 sacks, over his first three games. Harmon then became somewhat of background character on the Steelers' defense for the rest of the regular season, ultimately missing three more contests with a separate knee injury in late November and early December. The defensive lineman did leave his mark on Pittsburgh's 30-6 loss to the Texans in the wild-card round though, notching six tackles, one which was a sack. Harmon will enter the 2026 campaign looking to make a second-year leap with the Steelers.

Derrick Harmon: Breaking News
Practicing fully
Harmon (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Harmon hasn't played since Week 12 but appears to be ready to return to the lineup for Sunday's Week 16 date with the Lions. The first-round rookie defensive lineman has produced 22 tackles (nine solo), including 2.0 sacks, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery across 331 defensive snaps this season.
Won't play MNF
Harmon (knee) is inactive for Monday's game against the Dolphins. Harmon gave himself a chance to play against Miami after logging a limited practice Saturday, but the rookie first-rounder will end up missing a third consecutive game due to a lingering knee injury. Harmon appears to be progressing in his recovery given his questionable tag for Week 15, and his next opportunity to play is Sunday against the Lions. Rookie fifth-rounder Yahya Black has seen a significant increase in his snap count in the two games Harmon missed, so the former should continue to work in an expanded role on the Steelers' defensive line.
