Brown's return from a hip injury coincides with Mekhi Becton's (ankle) first absence of the season, so Brown will start at left tackle in his first action since Week 2. Becton's the favorite to start at left tackle when healthy, but given the poor recent play of New York's offensive line, the 38-year-old Brown could earn himself a permanent starting role with a strong performance Friday.

Starting at left tackle Week 12

Brown's return from a hip injury coincides with Mekhi Becton's (ankle) first absence of the season, so Brown will start at left tackle in his first action since Week 2. Becton's the favorite to start at left tackle when healthy, but given the poor recent play of New York's offensive line, the 38-year-old Brown could earn himself a permanent starting role with a strong performance Friday.
Returns to active roster

Brown's 21-day practice window had concluded, so his return to the 53-man roster was expected. The 38-year-old will be eligible to suit up Friday against the Dolphins, although it's not currently clear if he'll suit up for the contest.
Set to be activated

Brown was designated to return from IR on Nov. 2, so the team has used up its 21-day practice window. If the Virginia Tech product is not added to the 53-man roster Thursday, he'll be forced to return to injured reserve and miss the remainder of the season. The 38-year-old could return as soon as Friday against the Dolphins and reclaim his starting job at left tackle.
Missing Week 11

The veteran offensive lineman has yet to be activated to New York's active roster since he was designated to return from injured reserve in early November. Even though Brown logged a full week of practice, he still won't suit up this Sunday. Brown is expected to start at left tackle once he's ready to return to the field, and Mekhi Becton will likely be moved back to right tackle.
