Guyton's set to make his return after a one-game absence. He was on the PUP list for the first seven games of the season, then caught four of eight targets for 41 yards and a touchdown over a two-game span before missing the Chargers' Week 11 loss to the Packers. When healthy, the speedster has seen consistent playing time in three-receiver sets alongside Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston.
After logging a limited practice Friday, Guyton was added to the Chargers' Week 11 injury report before he ended up missing Sunday's loss to the Packers. The fact that Guyton was on the field Wednesday offers hope that he could return to action Sunday against the Ravens, but he'll need to practice fully by the end of the week in order to avoid an injury designation.
Despite missing over a year due to a torn ACL, Guyton has essentially slotted right into his previous role, playing over 60 percent of the snaps for the second consecutive week. It's hard to imagine the speedster regularly seeing a half-dozen targets even with Mike Williams (knee) done for the season, but he could still have utility in deeper fantasy leagues depending on the matchup. Expect the Chargers to produce plenty of offense against a disappointing Packers defense in Week 11.
Guyton was activated from the reserve/PUP list Sunday and is set to make his first appearance in a game since tearing his ACL in Week 3 of last season. In his return to the mix, he'll bolster the depth of a Chargers' wide receiver corps that will be without Joshua Palmer (knee), who is out at least four games after having landed on IR. While Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are slated to lead the unit while Palmer is out, Guyton will have a chance to compete for snaps behind the top duo with Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko. For now, however, Guyton remains a speculative fantasy option until his role in the offense is established.
Guyton had his 21-day evaluation window opened Oct. 19 and turned in a trio of full practices Thursday through Saturday, so the expectation is that he'll avoid the inactive list and suit up Monday for his season debut now that he's been added back to the 53-man roster. The Chargers placed fellow receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) on injured reserve in a corresponding move, potentially opening the door for Guyton to challenge the likes of Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko for the No. 3 receiver role behind Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston on Monday. Guyton hasn't accounted for heavy target volume at any point over his first four seasons with the Chargers, but he's served as a downfield threat with seven 40-plus-yard catches to his name in 38 career games.
