Back with practice squad

Mims reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Mims was elevated to the active roster prior to Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Texans, failing to log any snaps in the contest. The running back could earn another elevation in Week 5 if Tyjae Spears (ankle) isn't ready to return from injured reserve before the team's matchup with the Cardinals.

Joins active roster

Mims was elevated from the Titans' practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Kalel Mullings (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Friday and Tyjae Spears (ankle) has missed Tennessee's first three contests this season, so Mims' elevation provides much needed backfield depth. He's expected to play behind both Tony Pollard and Julius Chestnut in the Week 4 matchup against the Texans.

Mims' likelihood of being elevated again for Week 3 may hinge on whether Kalel Mullings (ankle) is able to suit up.
