Reverts to practice squad
Kirkwood reverted to the Ravens' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Despite being elevated to the active roster for the first time Saturday, Kirkwood was inactive for the Ravens' AFC wild-card win over the Steelers. He'll be available for elevation for Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the Bills.
Won't play against Pittsburgh
Kirkwood (coach's decision) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Steelers. Kirkwood was elevated from the Ravens' practice squad to the active roster Saturday, but he will not suit up for Saturday's AFC wild-card game. Fellow practice-squad wideout Anthony Miller will play and will give the Ravens another pass catcher.
Elevated for wild-card game
The Ravens elevated Kirkwood from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday. Kirkwood has been on Baltimore's practice squad throughout the campaign, and this marks his first elevation. The veteran wideout played in 13 games with the New Orleans last year, tallying five catches on nine targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. Fellow receiver Anthony Miller was also elevated to help provide depth in the pass-catching corps with Zay Flowers (knee) ruled out for Saturday's wild-card game against Pittsburgh.
Still has opportunity
Kirkwood signed with the Ravens' practice squad Wednesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports. Kirkwood suited up in 13 regular-season games for the Saints last season, but he signed with Baltimore as a free agent in June after a tryout. Unfortunately, for the Temple product, he was able to secure an active roster spot, but he'll now have the opportunity to stay with the franchise and earn one this season.
Released by Baltimore
Kirkwood was released by the Ravens on Tuesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports. The wide receiver signed with the Ravens in June after participating in a minicamp tryout. Kirkwood appeared in 13 games for the Saints in 2023 and caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Adds depth to Baltimore WR corps
The Ravens signed Kirkwood on Friday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports. Kirkwood was brought aboard by the Ravens after having participated in minicamp on a tryout basis. In 13 games for the Saints during the 2023 regular season, the 29-year-old caught five of his nine targets for 37 yards and a TD. With the Ravens, Kirkwood will compete for a depth role in a wideout corps that also includes Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, Devontez Walker, Tylan Wallace and Deonte Harty.
