Kevin Harris: Breaking News

Let go on cutdown day

The Jaguars waived Harris on Tuesday. Harris signed with Jacksonville on Aug. 19 and played in the team's final preseason game, recording 25 yards on seven carries along with 17 yards on three catches. His most recent regular-season action came in 2023, when he played in four contests with the Patriots and logged 16 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown along with three catches on three targets for 58 yards.

Signs with Jaguars

The Jaguars signed Harris on Tuesday. Harris is headed to Jacksonville after having last played with Patriots in 2023, where he carried the ball 16 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in addition to catching three passes for 58 yards. The 24-year-old will face an uphill battle to earn a spot on the team's final roster as they already have a crowded backfield, and he could be a candidate to land on their practice squad.

Sticks around in New England

Harris signed with the Patriots' practice squad Wednesday, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports. There was no room for Harris on the Pats' 53-man roster after he lost out to JaMycal Hasty for the No. 3 running back job behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Harris has played in nine regular-season games for the Patriots since being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and during that span he rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries. Harris will stay in New England and be ready for a potential promotion to the active roster during the upcoming season.
