Miles Boykin: Everything you need to know

Boykin announced Wednesday he is retiring from the NFL, Steve Rudden reports. The 2019 third-round pick spent the first three seasons of his career with the Ravens before signing with Pittsburgh in 2022. Boykin hasn't played in a game since 2023, but he was a part of the Bears' practice squad up until early November of the 2025 season. The 29-year-old finishes with 38 receptions for 498 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season over five campaigns.

The Bears cut Boykin from the practice squad Saturday. Boykin stuck around in Chicago on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He wasn't elevated to the active roster during the first half of the regular season, and now that he's been cut, he'll look to join a team in need of wide receiver depth and a contributor on special teams. Boykin last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Steelers, when he played all 17 games and logged three catches (on four targets) for 17 yards while mostly playing on special teams.

Boykin landed on the Bears' practice squad Wednesday. The wide receiver was let go by the team Tuesday despite a strong training camp and preseason. Given his performance in camp, Boykin's signing to the practice squad is perhaps not a surprise, though he faces an uphill battle for a roster spot during the regular season due to Chicago's depth at wide receiver.
