Sudfeld was released by the 49ers on Thursday. Sudfeld joined the 49ers on Tuesday but his time with the team was short-lived. He was out of the league in 2024, so it's unclear when his next opportunity may come.

Signs with San Francisco

The 49ers signed Sudfeld on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. With Brock Purdy unlikely to play and Mac Jones (knee) and Kurtis Rourke (knee) injured, Sudfeld will help the Niners navigate their preseason finale. Sudfeld spent the 2024 season out of the league after he was released by the Lions last August.
