Bawden was released by the Texans on Tuesday. Bawden joined the Texans on Aug. 20 after being let go by the Jets in late July. He was competing against Andrew Beck for a fullback spot on the Texans' 53-man roster, but neither player made the cut. Bawden will look to bring his blocking ability elsewhere.

Nick Bawden: Breaking News
Let go by New York
Bawden was released by the Jets on Tuesday. Bawden was just activated off the PUP list Monday after dealing with an undisclosed injury but will now head to free agency. The 2018 seventh-round pick will look to catch on with another team after carrying the ball two times for four yards and a touchdown across 16 games for the Jets last season.
Moves off PUP list
The Jets activated Bawden (undisclosed) off the active/PUP list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The San Diego State product had been sidelined with some injury as of late, but he's now passed his physical and moved past the issue. Bawden appeared in 16 regular-season games with the Jets last season, and he's expected to remain New York's top fullback once again in 2024.
