Aumavae spent the 2025 season on injured reserve with an Achilles tear and will now be waived after initially signing as an undrafted free agent in 2024. The defensive tackle has spent his NFL career thus far bouncing around the Panthers' reserve lists. The 27-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent able to join any team if he clears waivers.

Aumavae (Achilles) cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Aumavae is still recovering from the Achilles tear he suffered last July. The Oregon product was waived by Carolina on Thursday, and since he's cleared waivers, he'll now move to the team's injured reserve.
The Panthers waived Aumavae (undisclosed) with an injury designation Thursday. Aumavae was injured during training camp last season and spent the 2024 season on injured reserve in Carolina. The former undrafted free agent out of Oregon has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
