The Cowboys cut Charles (knee) on Tuesday. Charles suffered a knee injury during the preseason opener, but he's back to full health now. A 2020 fourth-round pick out of LSU, Charles has started 18 games since entering the league.
Charles (knee) will not return to Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Charles suffered a knee injury and won't retake the field Saturday, though the Cowboys could simply be being cautious given the current early stage of the preseason. The 2020 fourth-round pick appears primed to begin the regular season in a depth role along Dallas' offensive line, health permitting.
The Cowboys signed Charles to a one-year contract on Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Charles spent the 2024 season in retirement but announced his decision to return to the NFL early March, and he'll now get a chance to compete for a depth role along the interior of Dallas' offensive line. The 2020 fourth-round pick started 10 of his 11 regular-season appearances with the Titans back in 2023, when last he suited up for NFL action.
