Thomas Morstead: Breaking News

Morstead signed with the 49ers on Wednesday. The 39-year-old was released by the Jets earlier in May, but he's already found a new home in San Francisco. Morstead has been in the NFL since 2009, receiving second-team All-Pro honors once across his 16-year career. He's now expected to serve as the 49ers' top punter and holder in 2025.

The Jets released Morstead on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Morstead spent the past two seasons in New York but will now look to catch on with another team. The Jets are now left with Kai Kroeger and Austin McNamara as the only punters on the roster, neither of who have appeared in a regular season game.
