Watson was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday. Watson cleared waivers after being cut loose Tuesday, ultimately deciding to hang around Kansas City as a member of the practice unit. The tight end will look to earn an elevation to the active roster at some point this season to make his NFL debut.

Watson was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday. Watson signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in April, ultimately recording just one catch for four yards in one preseason contest with the team. The tight end will likely clear waivers and then look for another opportunity elsewhere.

The Chiefs activated Watson (undisclosed) off the active/PUP list Sunday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports. Watson signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in April and is now healthy again after having been sidelined for the start of training camp. While the 22-year-old faces an uphill battle to make the team's final roster, he could be a candidate to land on their practice squad.
