Tru Edwards: Everything you need to know

The Rams signed Edwards to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Edwards signed with the Rams in May as an undrafted free agent and opted to stick around on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. Edwards did not appear in a single game during his rookie season, but he'll be on the Rams' 90-man roster at the start of the offseason, giving him the opportunity to make an impression on the coaching staff during OTAs and minicamp.

The Rams signed Edwards to the practice squad Wednesday, Wyatt Miller of the team's official site reports. Edwards wasn't able to make the Rams' 53-man roster after logging four catches (on six targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown in two preseason games. He'll stay in Los Angeles as a member of the Rams' practice squad, where the undrafted rookie will be eligible for elevation to the active roster if the team needs depth at wide receiver.

The Rams waived Edwards on Tuesday. Edwards joined the Rams in late April as an undrafted free agent. He missed the team's preseason opener due to an undisclosed injury, but he returned for the final two contests and posted four catches (on six targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown. While Edwards wasn't able to carve a spot for himself on the Rams' 53-man roster, he is a candidate to remain in Los Angeles as a member of the team's practice squad.
