Smith was waived/injured by the Panthers on Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports. It is unclear when Smith picked up his undisclosed injury and how serious it is. If he does not get claimed off waivers, the prospective depth offensive lineman will revert back to Carolina's injured reserve. His season would then be over unless both parties can land on an injury settlement at some point down the road.
