Tyrel Dodson: Everything you need to know

Dodson tallied 129 tackles (72 solo), including 5.0 sacks, across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025. He also had three passes defensed, including one interception, plus one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Dodson managed the first 100-tackle season of his NFL career while joining Jordyn Brooks as the only every-down starter in Miami's linebacker corps. He's slated to play out the final year of his contract with the Dolphins in 2026. Dodson will be a solid bet to reach the 100-tackle threshold again in 2026 as long as the offseason additions Miami brings to the linebacker corps don't threaten to infringe on his starting role.

Dodson recorded five tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, during the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. Dodson was credited with a seven-yard sack of Baker Mayfield late in the third quarter, when the veteran signal caller recovered his own fumble and ran out of bounds. That brought Dodson up to 5.0 sacks through 15 regular-season games, which surpasses his total of 4.5 sacks across the two prior seasons combined. His 121 combined tackles on the year is a career high, and this Sunday's AFC East tilt against the Patriots marks his final opportunity to add to his total this season.

Dodson (chest) is active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Dodson drew the questionable tag for Week 17 after a DNP/LP/FP practice log, and he has been cleared to play Sunday after going through pregame warmups. In the four games since the Dolphins' Week 12 bye, Dodson has accumulated 29 tackles (19 solo) and two pass defenses (one interception).
