Amadi re-signed with the Saints on a one-year deal Monday. The slot cornerback enjoyed his best season in 2024, recording career highs in tackles (65), solo tackles (52), sacks (2.0) and pass breakups (seven). Amadi got his chance in late October when Paulson Adebo went down with a season-ending broken femur, and he kept his spot the rest of the way. Adebo signed with the Giants earlier in March, so Amadi should at least get a chance to compete for a role with the Saints this summer.

Ugo Amadi: Breaking News
Logs 65 tackles in 2024
Amadi amassed 65 tackles (52 solo), including two sacks, and seven passes defended while appearing in 11 regular-season games for New Orleans in 2024. Amadi wasn't expected to be an impact player in the Saints' secondary this season, but he was brought up from the practice squad in late October after starting cornerback Paulson Adebo suffered a season-ending broken femur. Amadi slotted in as the team's primary nickelback for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old totaled more than 60 tackles for the first time in his career and over 50 tackles for the first time his 2021 campaign with Kansas City. He also tallied the first two sacks of his career. Amadi is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason, though it wouldn't be surprising if he comes back to compete for a depth role with the Saints in 2025.
Capitalizes on opportunity Sunday
Amadi logged nine tackles (all solo), including three for loss, in Sunday's 20-17 Week 10 win against Atlanta. With Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) traded to Washington last Tuesday, Amadi logged 100 percent of New Orleans' defensive snaps for the first time this season. He played well, finishing with a season-high nine stops, including three tackles for loss. Amadi also made a huge play on the final snap of the game, making a nice tackle of Ray-Ray McCloud to keep the wideout in bounds and force the clock to expire to ensure a narrow Saints victory.
