New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady maintained his innocence in the Deflategate scandal throughout his lengthy appeal, according to documents that were released on Tuesday.

That’s just the tip of the drama-filled iceberg in this latest round of information concerning Brady and the Patriot’s role in the allegedly deflated footballs used in the AFC Championship game this year. In addition to maintaining his innocence, Brady denied that he ever tampered with the footballs and investigator Ted Wells said that he never warned the quarterback he would be punished if he didn’t turn over his cell phone.

Brady was suspended four games and the Patriots were fined $1 million and two draft picks following an investigation by Wells into the air-pressure of footballs used in the championship game. The NFL upheld Brady’s suspension after the Super Bowl MVP filed an appeal. The case is now scheduled to go to federal court. Check out the transcript from Brady’s appeal here:
