WATCH: Malik Zaire Injured in Notre Dame-Virginia Game

Malik Zaire was running with the ball late in the third quarter when his ankle turned on the play above. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury but it does not look good based on the replay. We will update you as soon as we know more.

Zaire had 115 yards passing and 87 yards rushing. Notre Dame trailed Virginia midway through the third quarter, but now lead 26-21 at the start of the fourth quarter. DeShone Kizer takes over at quarterback for the Irish.

Zaire is coming off an amazing performance against the Texas Longhorns in last week’s 38-3 victory. He was 19-of-22 for 313 yards and 3 touchdowns.

ESPN is reporting that the team did not have to move Zaire off site to get x-rays. No word yet on the x-ray results.
