Marshawn Lynch just can’t seem to get healthy. First it was his neck. Then it was his calf. Now it’s his hamstring.

And we’re only in Week 4.

Lynch has been ruled OUT for Monday night:

Pete Carroll offered the following update on Lynch’s status:

To recap, Lynch entered the Seattle Seahawks‘ Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears as a game-time decision due to a lingering calf issue. He played, but after just five carries for 14 yards, he left with an injury to his hamstring.

Immediately after the game, head coach Pete Carroll said the newest malady was “nothing to be alarmed by,” so it doesn’t sound overly serious. However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lynch’s status for Week 4 is completely up in the air:

In other words, we’re probably headed for another “game-time decision” designation, but we’ll be sure to provide the updates as they come along.

Should Lynch be unable to go against the Detroit Lions on Monday night, undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls would again handle most of the carries, with veteran Fred Jackson mixing in on passing downs. Rawls was terrific last week, tallying 104 yards on 16 carries and showing a downhill style that the Seahawks clearly like.

Rawls’ presence may make it easier for the Seahawks to rest Lynch, especially in a game in which they are favored by 9.5 points.

Still, Beast Mode hasn’t missed a game since 2011, so it’s going to take quite a bit to keep him off the field.
