It has been a difficult season for Peyton Manning and his family. Manning missed seven games while recovering from injuries, but was able to play in the Broncos final regular season game to help them secure the number one seed in the AFC.
Al Jazeera reported that steroids and other drugs were shipped to their home address under Ashley’s name to avoid Peyton being linked to the drugs. He has come out and vehemently denied the allegations.
Manning told ESPN he was hurt and felt bad for his wife whose medical history was violated. It has put Ashley in the spotlight which is something she has avoided despite being married to one of the most iconic players in the NFL.
Since the report was released, Al Jazeera has withstood heavy criticism. Charlie Sly was the man listed in the documentary as the source of the information, but he recanted his story as soon as the information went public.
Sly said that the news channel took stories he had made up without his consent. Shortly after the documentary was released, it was announced that Al Jazeera would be shutting down in April.
Manning told Peter King that he would “probably” sue Al Jazeera. This seems unlikely now in light of the recent news of the company shutting down.
The couple has been married since 2001 and has two children. The Mannings had twins, Mosley and Marshall, in 2011. If Ashley has her way, she will go back to remaining in the background after this story goes away.
