Lucky Whitehead got the first preseason game between the Cowboys and Rams off to a fast start. Whitehead ran back the opening kickoff on the first play of the game to give Dallas a 7-0 lead with just seconds ticked off the clock.
The game marked the first NFL game back in Los Angeles since 1994. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott got the start for the Cowboys as Tony Romo was held out of the game.
While he did not start the game, it also marked the debut of number one draft pick quarterback Jared Goff for the Rams. Rookie running bak Ezekiel Elliott missed the game with a hamstring injury.
