WWE superstar Finn Balor is recovering from surgery after suffering a shoulder injury at the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

On Tuesday evening, Balor took to Twitter to post an image of himself recuperating in the hospital following his procedure.

This surgery took place at a hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, according to Wrestlezone. It happened much earlier than many fans expected, just about 24 hours after Balor officially relinquished his Universal Championship title on Monday Night Raw.

Balor is expected to be out for four to six months. He was injured during his match with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, specifically when Rollins threw him into a barricade. His shoulder popping out of its socket was captured on camera during the broadcast, and Balor needed surgery due to a torn labrum. During the show, Balor popped his shoulder back in and continued the match.

On August 22nd’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Balor addressed the crowd with his arm in a sling, forced to give up his Universal Championship one day after winning it. He made clear to the crowd that the moment he’s healthy, he’ll be coming back to win the belt once again.

On next week’s Raw, four superstars will compete for the Universal Championship in a fatal four-way: Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Big Cass and Roman Reigns.

After his character mocked Finn Balor on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins took to Twitter on Tuesday to post a simple thank you to Finn Balor.
