Final Score

Bengals — 7-7-0-3–17

Broncos — 3-13-0-13–29

The Broncos left Paul Brown Stadium with their undefeated record unblemished on Sunday, defeating the Bengals 29-17. Trevor Siemian was the star of the day, leading the Broncos offense with a career high 312 yards and four touchdowns.

Cincinnati opened the scoring with strong runs from Jeremy Hill, but Denver was always there to respond. The home team took a lead to start the fourth quarter with a field goal, but it was all Denver in the final period.

Jeremy Hill Broke a Huge Run to Jumpstart the Bengals

Hill got the Bengals started early, taking their first drive all the way to the one yard line. Hill eventually punched it in, giving the Bengals an early lead.

Siemian Shows Off the Arm to Find Sanders

After an Adam Jones fumble on a punt return gave the Broncos good field position, they came out aggressive. Siemian took a deep drop to find Sanders, who burned the aforementioned Jones for Denver’s first TD.

After a disappointing start to the season, the Bengals ground game has come alive at home. Jeremy Hill has two touchdowns in the first half, as the Bengals cap an impressive eight-play drive with a short TD.

Siemian & Sanders Connect Again Just Before Halftime

The Broncos respond with their own ten-play drive just before halftime, and Siemian caps it off again with a nice pass to Sanders. Denver takes the lead at the break in a back-and-forth game in Cincinnati.

Siemian’s Third TD Gives Denver a Late Lead

After a field goal put the Bengals on top, the Broncos went right back down the field. Siemian capped another long drive with a passing TD, this time with a bullet to tight end John Phillips.

Demaryius Thomas MAkes a Great Catch For Siemian’s Fourth Passing TD

Trevor Siemian is having an impressive debut on the road, putting up career high numbers across the board. Here he shows Thomas some love, letting the big man make a great play on the ball and extend Denver’s lead.

Andy Dalton is Intercepted on a Deflection

The Bengals never had a chance for a comeback, as Dalton’s first pass attempt with just over four minutes left was tipped into the air and intercepted.

Game Preview

Trevor Siemian hits the road for the first time as a starter on Sunday, as the Broncos head to Paul Brown Stadium to face the Bengals. Andy Dalton and the Bengals grinded through two tough road games to go 1-1, and are rewarded with a visit from the defending champions.

Denver spent the first two weeks of the season within the friendly confines of Sports Authority Field, going 2-0 in wins over Carolina and Indianapolis. In both games the defense had the final say, but that unit is missing a veteran presence for this week. Demarcus Ware suffered a fractured forearm last week, and is estimated to miss four to six weeks. His defensive coordinator seems to think he’ll return sooner, but he’ll be out against Cincinnati.

The Bengals have had their struggles on both sides of the ball, despite being a few close plays from being 2-0. They’ve started the season as one of the teams in the NFL when it comes to running the football on both offense and defense. They’ve given up an NFL-worst 276 rushing yards through two games, and have only rushed for an NFL-second worst 103 yards on offense. Dalton has been lights-out to open the season, but he and A.J. Green can’t singlehandedly keep the offense afloat.

The Bengals are favored in this matchup, which ended in overtime last year. In a battle of backup quarterbacks, AJ McCarron led his team to a tying field goal before Brock Osweiler drove for the win in overtime.
