Christian McCaffrey: 40 Yard Dash Time, Stats, Age, Height & Weight

Christian McCaffrey is the most exciting player in college football and fans cannot get enough information about the Stanford playmaker. McCaffrey possesses a unique combination of speed and quickness that allows him to allude defenders. The 20-year-old running back is 6’0″ and 200 pounds.

According to Fox Sports, McCaffrey runs a 4.5 40 yard dash. Stanford’s strength and conditioning coach Shannon Turley told FOX McCaffrey is the fastest Stanford running back he has seen since he started in 2007.

He may not be the fastest member of his own family. His brother, Max McCaffrey, is a rookie receiver for the Oakland Raiders after graduating from Duke. He was timed at 4.36 seconds for his 40 during Duke’s pro day.

Ed McCaffrey, a long-time NFL receiver, admitted to the USA Today that his son Max is faster than he was.

“Max is faster than me. I’m not afraid to admit it. He’s always been fast. Speed is something I always worked on really hard. He does have some God-given speed and I think that will serve him well,” Ed McCaffrey told the USA Today.

The McCaffrey family seems to be a football factory. Christian’s younger brother, Dylan, is one of the top high school quarterback prospects in the nation and has committed to Michigan. The youngest of the four McCaffrey brothers, Luke, is a high school sophomore and also plays quarterback.

McCaffrey has put up incredible stats during his tenure with Stanford. Last season, he rushed for 2,019 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had 645 receiving yards and five touchdowns. McCaffrey is involved in the return game and had 1,200 return yards along with two touchdowns.

Through two games in the 2016 season, he had 298 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

McCaffrey has visions of joining his brother in the NFL but has not indicated that he would enter the 2017 NFL Draft. The junior is majoring in Communication at Stanford and could opt to return for his senior year. Some question whether he can be a three-down running back in the NFL, and his NFL projections are all over the board. In their latest mock draft, Walter Football has him going in the first round with the 24th pick to the Denver Broncos.

An NFL team would be wise to adapt their offense to McCaffrey’s playmaking ability. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah compared him to Devonta Freeman given he can be used heavily in the passing game.
