Four days ahead of WWE’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view, we’re now hearing rumors about who is expected to lose their title at the event. Warning: potential spoilers lie ahead.

According to a rumor from Cageside Seats, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are expected to defeat The New Day at Clash of Champions, becoming the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions.

If true, this would be a major turning point for Gallows and Anderson, who have not been treated very seriously over the past few weeks. Their feud with The New Day has mostly been played for laughs, as with the bizarre “Old Day” segment and with a recurring bit where Anderson and Gallows pretend to be doctors. After winning the title, perhaps the two will begin to be treated more like a legitimate threat.

This development should not be too surprising, though, considering The New Day has held the title for an extraordinarily long amount of time. The group won the championship all the way back at Extreme Rules on April 26, 2015. They then lost the title at Money in the Bank in June 2015, only to gain it back at SummerSlam in August 2015. They have been the Tag Team Champions ever since, being drafted to Raw in July 2016.

While just about everyone loves The New Day, there has been a feeling among viewers that their title reign has gotten a bit stale in recent months. For many, then, this Clash of Champions development will be a refreshing shakeup that should both make Anderson and Gallows far more interesting and which should alter the dynamic of The New Day a bit.

The New Day was actually widely speculated to lose their title at SummerSlam 2016 when they were forced to have a match without Big E, who was dealing with an injury. Big E ended up making a surprise return and intervening in the match, and though this caused The New Day to be disqualified, they still retained the championship. They are currently the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in history.

At Clash of Champions, the first Raw branded pay-per-view, every single one of the red team’s titles will be defended. Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins will battle over the Universal Championship; Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley will battle over the Women’s Championship; Rusev and Roman Reigns will battle over the United States Championship; and T.J. Perkins and Brian Kendrick will battle over the Cruiserweight Championship.

Plus, there will be matches between Alicia Fox and Nia Jax, Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho, and Cesaro and Sheamus.

Clash of Champions airs Sunday, September 25th on the WWE Network.
