Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns has an opportunity to insert himself into the upcoming Universal Championship match at WWE Clash of Champions. Will he be successful? Plus, the Cesaro and Sheamus best of seven continues. The show will be broadcast from Baltimore, Maryland at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network. Read on for live match results and spoilers, followed by a full preview of the night’s events written earlier this afternoon.

8:00 – The show opens with Mick Foley in the ring. He congratulates the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, but says he believes Raw still has the better women’s division. With that in mind, he welcomes out Charlotte.

Charlotte enters. She demands an apology from Dana Brooke for causing her to lose to Bayley last week. Brooke says she’s sorry. Just as Foley begins to bring up Clash of Champions, Sasha Banks enters. She says she’s going to take the title back at Clash of Champions.

Bayley enters. She says she’d love to see Sasha compete for the championship, but she points out that she beat Charlotte last week, so maybe she deserves a title shot. Sasha tells Bayley to get in the back of the line, because she and Charlotte have unfinished business. Sasha wants a rematch right now, but Charlotte refuses. Mick Foley starts having second thoughts about the Clash of Champions match. Foley decides there will be a match between Sasha Banks and Bayley tonight, and the winner will go on to battle Charlotte at Clash of Champions.

An angered Charlotte lashes out at Dana Brooke, and Brooke proceeds to slap Charlotte in the face. This prompts Foley to add Dana Brooke into the match with Bayley and Sasha Banks.

8:20 Sasha Banks defeats Bayley and Dana Brooke in a triple threat match.

8:40 – Backstage, Dana Brooke apologizes to a very unreceptive Charlotte.

8:41 – The Shining Stars try to get R-Truth to invest in a time share. They’re interrupted by Enzo and Big Cass, who accuse them of being cheating con men. Enzo tells the Shining Stars they have unfinished business and challenge them to another match tonight.

8:42 – In an interview, Kevin Owens says that Seth Rollins is just jealous of him and that Roman Reigns doesn’t belong in the same ring as him ever. He also says that Mick Foley is trying to stack the odds against him because he was never on the same level as Triple H. Finally, Kevin Owens adds that in two weeks it won’t be a triple threat match because he’s going to defeat Roman Reigns tonight.

After Owens leaves, Chris Jericho enters and says that on his highlight reel tonight, his guest will be Sami Zayn.

8:49 Bo Dallas defeats a local jobber.

8:57 – Chris Jericho interviews Sami Zayn on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel. Zayn says he could care less about Kevin Owens, except that he plans to go after the WWE Universal Championship. He says the truth about Kevin Owens is that he doesn’t care about the fans; he only cares about himself. Chris Jericho says that Sami Zayn is clearly just jealous that Kevin Owens is champion. Zayn says that after an amazing career, Chris Jericho has become nothing more than Kevin Owens’ bitch. In response, Chris Jericho assaults Sami Zayn.

9:11 Cesaro defeats Sheamus.

9:25 – Backstage, Seth Rollins confronts Mick Foley, confused that Roman Reigns has an opportunity tonight. Mick Foley says that Roman Reigns was just as wronged as he was, but Rollins says that there’s no comparison between him and Reigns. He also accuses Foley of being in Stephanie McMahon’s pocket, which causes Foley to flip out, angrily telling Rollins not to question his integrity. Rollins calls Foley a fool and walks off.

9:31 Nia Jax defeats Alicia Fox, throwing Fox into the barricade and forcing her to be attended to by medical professionals.

9:42 – The New Day enters. Xavier Woods says that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson tried their hand at “entertainment” last week, which is their thing. They act as if they’re about to show a clip of that “old day” bit, only to say that they burned that footage. All three of them proceed to mock the skit and apologize to the audience because their time was wasted.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson enter, saying that at Clash of Champions they’re going to rip the stupid unicorn horns off their heads and take the tag team titles. An Anderson and Gallows vs. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston will take place next.

9:51  Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows defeat Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

10:02 – Backstage, Roman Reigns declares that he’s going to kick Kevin Owens’ ass tonight.

10:09 – Jinder Mahal enters. He says that while he was gone, he felt nothing but hatred, but he has learned to let that go. He has found inner peace, and he wants to share this with the WWE universe. Jack Swagger enters, ready to take on Mahal.

10:11 – Jinder Mahal defeats Jack Swagger.

10:20 – Backstage, Jack Swagger is asked about the fact that his Monday Night Raw contract expires soon, but he storms off before answering any questions.

10:21 The Shining Stars defeat Enzo Amore & Big Cass.

10:34 – Backstage, Seth Rollins wishes Kevin Owens good luck because he wants their match to stay one-on-one. He could think of no better revenge on Triple H than to tear Kevin Owens to pieces. Owens is surprised Rollins doesn’t want Roman Reigns in the match so that Reigns can do all the work and Rollins can take the credit like he always does. Owens also says that since coming back, all Rollins has done is fail again and again. Mick Foley warns Seth Rollins that there will be consequences if he intervenes tonight.

10:38 – Kevin Owens fights Roman Reigns. Towards the end of the match, Seth Rollins intervenes and attacks Kevin Owens. At first Kevin Owens is named the winner by disqualification, but then Mick Foley flips out at Seth Rollins and decides to restart the match. Not long after, Rusev runs out and distracts Roman Reigns, resulting in a Kevin Owens victory. After the match ends, Rusev brutally assaults Roman Reigns.

The main event of September 12th’s Raw is that match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens. Last week, Reigns abruptly showed up at the end of the show to challenge Kevin Owens, and Mick Foley decided that the two would have a match on September 12th. If Reigns wins, the Universal Championship match at Clash of Champions will become a triple threat with Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. If he loses, the match will remain a one-on-one between Rollins and Owens.

It’s widely suspected that Roman Reigns will lose this evening, if only because his feud with Rusev is completely unresolved. Their SummerSlam match never ended up happening, and there has been no progression on that storyline since. Even though Rusev is supposedly on his honeymoon until the end of September, it seems he will be defending his title at Clash of Champions; it has been advertised that every Raw title will be defended, and Rusev is even on the show’s official poster. So a Roman Reigns vs. Rusev match for Clash of Champions seems logical.

Also on Raw tonight, we’ll have to see how Charlotte reacts to Sasha Banks’ news last week. The Boss, who has been away due to injury, showed up on September 5th’s show to declare that she’ll be back at Clash of Champions to reclaim her Women’s Championship title. What will Charlotte have to say about that? Also, where does Bayley fit into all this? She defeated Charlotte in a match last week, so it’s a bit strange that she has not earned herself a title opportunity.

Plus, we’ll probably see more of the feud between The New Day and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, although hopefully this time without the awful “Old Day” bit. Will they strike back against their foes? Will Nia Jax and Braun Strowman continue to dominate local jobbers? Will Enzo & Cass recover from their defeat by The Shining Stars last week? Will Darren Young continue to make himself great again? We’ll find out when Raw goes live tonight at 8.
