The Jaguars go for three straight victories on Sunday, when they host the cross-country travelling Raiders. Oakland is 3-0 on the road this season, but they lost their last two visits to Oakland by a combined 45 points.
Both of these teams have postseason aspirations in 2016, despite recent franchise struggles. The Raiders have a high-flying offense with Derek Carr under center, but it’s been his pass protection keeping his team moving. The Jaguars haven’t been as explosive as last season’s breakout numbers, but that could change against Oakland’s league-worst defense.
The common thread in both offenses is a struggling running game. The Raiders are 13th in rushing, and the Jaguars are 31st. The difference is in Oakland’s offensive line, who have allowed a league-best seven sacks through six games.
The Jaguars have been Vegas darlings early this year, going 4-1 against the spread despite a 2-3 record.
